Emmitt W. "Jake" McElroy, son of the late Charles Wood McElroy and Grace Webb McElroy was born in Seco, Kentucky, July 9, 1953. He entered eternal life Monday, August 27, 2018 at Blackey, Kentucky being 65 years, 1 month and 18 days of age at the time of his passing.
Emmitt was married to the late Karen Yvonne McElroy. She passed away August 8, 2005. He later married Sue Ruth Adams McElroy, September 14, 2017. Emmitt was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Ruth McElroy of Jenkins, Kentucky. Two daughters; Sarah (Chris) Hatton of Sandlick, Kentucky and Kim McElroy of Whitesburg, Kentucky. One son, Emmitt Erryn McElroy (Heather) of Linefork, Kentucky. Two step sons; Michael Mullins (Kimberly) of Dayton, Ohio and Daniel Mullins (Misti) of Somerset, Kentucky. One step daughter, Bridgette Cornett (Tyler) of Sergent, Kentucky. A very close family friend, Lori Collins. Two brothers; Donald McElroy of Millstone, Kentucky and Larry McElroy of Ohio. Four sisters; Marvilene Quillen of McRoberts, Kentucky. Mary Betty Blank of London, Kentucky, Brenda Fields of Ohio and Jeanette Cook of Millstone, Kentucky. Ten grandchildren; Beau Hatton, Brook Hatton, Grace Hatton, Kaylin Noble, Kody Damron, Tara Damron, Sidney Amburgey, Cody Brown and Peyton Brown, and Sara Damron. Three great grandchildren; Brooklyn Payge Damron, Saylor Karen Noble and Cheyla Perry. Five step granddaughters, Jordan Medina, Beverly Cook, Kristian Mullins, Megan Mullins and Bridgett Malia Mullins.
Also surviving are a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Emmitt was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.
